Conceptual estimation of the noise reduction potential of electrified aircraft engines

چکیده
The advent of electrified propulsion systems for civil aircraft promises not only notable reductions CO 2 and NO x emissions, but also perceived noise. In an attempt to estimate the noise reduction potential fully electric engines, current study compares generated by classical turboprop turbofan engines with spectra calculated engines. calculation is based on published far-field sound pressure level at different certification points, which are then modified account absence combustion-related sources. addition overall level, changes effective taken into account. results clearly show that electrification engine alone will lead required in order achieve goals future aviation set European Commission. Instead, continued research necessary further reduce sources continue be present novel systems, such as fan airframe

15 صفحه اولAn Overview of Aircraft Noise Reduction Technologies
The aim of this article is to provide a broad overview of current and future noise reduction technologies used in aircraft industries. It starts by recalling the regulation framework and the European incentives that have triggered efforts in this domain, as well as the major dedicated EU research programs. Then, technologies are introduced in four parts: engine nacelle, fan, jet and exhaust tec...
متن کاملNoise Reduction Technologies for Turbofan Engines
Significant progress continues to be made with noise reduction for turbofan engines. NASA has conducted and sponsored research aimed at reducing noise from commercial aircraft. Since it takes many years for technologies to be developed and implemented, it is important to have aggressive technology goals that lead the target entry into service dates. Engine noise is one of the major contributors...
